About Us
Below you will find information about the history of the Indian Springs Ranch Wedding and Event location. We look forward to making your special event a reality.
Only 30-minutes from Hollywood set in the Los Angeles Foothills and against the backdrop of the Angeles National Forrest is Indian Springs Ranch, a truly unique and historical film and event location once owned by movie mogul Cecil B. DeMille. This rare 40-acre piece of privately owned land is surrounded by Forrest in a serene canyon with few neighbors.
The property was purchased in 1991, having been in the same family for over 100 years. It was natural land except for two old stone foundations and a chimney stack nestled between Eucalyptus trees. That site, once a gold mining cottage that burned down in the 1920’s, is now the base of the two bed room ‘Granny’ house and our stone cottage. There is still gold in the hills and you are welcome to pan for your share in the stream.
The history predates the Gold Rush years. The area was home to one of the largest Indian villages in the Southland and later to Spanish missionaries.
At the turn of the last century, the region became a resort destination for well-heeled hunters and later, the source of famous olives served at the White House in Washington, DC.
Today Indian Springs Ranch is home to a multitude of wildlife including deer in the early morning and late afternoon and we have a resident fox that lives by our front gate.
The stream runs almost all year round with a second seasonal stream and several natural springs we have yet to fully explore. The property is naturally divided by the stream with the studio and house on one side and the main house and two guest houses on the other side. Three quaint bridges connecting the two sides.
Lush with blooming color, flowering gardens and quaint walk ways, areas of the ranch have been tamed and manicured around the houses leaving prefect spots for your wedding, small intimate ceremony, large event or film production.
We are extremely film friendly!
